Attic and Roof Hive Removal in San Diego
By the time you notice it, the hive is already large. We remove the bees, pull the comb, and seal the entry - before the heat turns that honey into a bigger problem.

Why Attic Hives Are Different
The longer they're up there, the worse it gets.
Most homeowners find out about an attic hive one of two ways - they hear buzzing from the ceiling, or they call an exterminator who tells them the bees are back again. Spraying doesn't work here. The hive stays. The comb stays. And when summer hits, that unventilated attic turns into an oven. Honey melts, seeps through drywall, and draws rodents and insects for months after the bees are gone.
Attics give bees exactly what they need: dark, warm, protected from wind. A hive that's been up there 60 days can have 30,000 bees and 20 pounds of comb. We've pulled larger. The job isn't just removing the bees - it's getting everything out before it becomes a structural problem.

What You're Actually Dealing With
Attic hives don't stay small.
A swarm moves in through a gap in your fascia, a loose roof vent, or a crack around an eave. Within weeks, they're building comb. Within months, you've got a full colony - and if they've been there through summer, the comb is full of honey.
That's when the real damage happens. Heat melts the wax. Honey runs. It soaks insulation, stains ceilings, and the smell pulls in ants, roaches, and rats. We've gone into attics where a previous "bee guy" just killed the colony and left. What we find is always worse than what the homeowner expected.
We do full extraction - bees, comb, honey, and all. Then we seal the entry point so another swarm can't move into the same spot next season.
One Call, The Whole Job
Everything the job needs, in one visit.
Live Bee Extraction
We remove the full colony - no spraying, no killing, no half measures. Bees are relocated when possible.
Full Comb and Honey Removal
Every piece of comb comes out. If honey is left behind, you get stains, smells, and every pest in the neighborhood.
Entry Point Sealing
After extraction we close the gap they used to get in. Same access point, same problem next year - we stop that.
How It Works
Three steps. Job done right.
We Find the Hive
We locate the colony, check how long they've been there, and assess what's inside before we touch anything. Attic hives are often bigger than they look from outside.
Full Extraction
Bees first, then comb, then honey. We work clean so we're not leaving anything that'll cause problems later. Access is through the roof or attic hatch - whatever makes sense for your structure.
Seal and Done
Entry point gets sealed. We confirm nothing is left behind. You get a clear space and no repeat visit from a new swarm following the pheromone trail.
What Neighbors Say
San Diego homeowners on what it's like to work with us.
"They didn't just spray and leave like the last company. Mario found the hive in our chimney, relocated the whole thing, and fixed the brickwork so it can't happen again."
"Same-day service, exactly as promised. Johnny showed up within hours of our call and had the swarm relocated before sundown. Professional and genuinely cared about the bees."
"We'd had bees in our attic twice before with another company. MJC explained why - they never removed the pheromone trail. A year later, still no bees."
"Wonderful job with a great price! Johnny came and removed bees from my orange tree within an hour after I called MJC. I never had any bee problems before so I called three different places and MJC's quote was the best of all. Two other places wanted to charge $100 more than MJC."
"Quick response for removal of wasp nest. Affordable prices and great customer service. Hopefully we won't need their services again anytime soon, but we will definitely call them again if a future need arises. Thank you Johnny for a great job."
Family-owned. No subcontractors. Same crew, every job.
Attic & Roof Hives FAQ
Questions we hear a lot about attic hives.
Buzzing from the ceiling or walls is the most common sign. You might also see bees entering and exiting through a gap near your roofline, fascia, or a vent. If you're seeing 10 or more bees coming and going from one spot, there's likely a colony inside.
You can kill bees with pesticide, but that doesn't solve the problem. The comb and honey stay in place. In summer, that honey melts and runs - staining drywall and pulling in ants, roaches, and rodents. Dead bees also decompose inside the space. The smell alone is reason enough to have it properly extracted.
Faster than people expect. A swarm that moves in during spring can be 20,000 to 30,000 bees by midsummer, with comb filling several square feet of space. We've pulled hives that had been there for years - those are large jobs. The sooner you call, the smaller the extraction.
We focus on the bee removal and entry point sealing. If the honey has already caused staining or insulation damage, we'll tell you what we found so you know what to have repaired. Some jobs need a contractor follow-up, some don't - it depends on how long the hive has been there.
Not if the job is done right. Bees return to spots where they can smell old comb - that's why leaving comb behind after a spray job almost guarantees a repeat. We pull everything out and seal the entry. No comb, no scent trail, no reason for the next swarm to pick the same spot.
